During our session, we'll have time to cover 1 or 2 backdrops. While I do offer a gentle posing and prompts to ensure we capture those picture-perfect shots, my focus will always be on preserving the genuine connections and joyful interactions that unfold naturally amongst the posing.

These sessions are designed to cherish and savour life's little moments at a more relaxed pace & with room to roam. We'll frolic around, exploring various backdrops, and I'll be there to capture those authentic "in-between" natural moments that unfold between the posing and prompting.

    Families in Nature- Golden Hour

    Let's take advantage of the fresh air and natural beauty of the outdoors to capture your family in action. With room to roam, we’re able to allow your children to be free, allowing their true personalities to shine through! From forests, to summer fields, to water, and wildflowers, nature always sets the perfect scene!

    Studio Setting

    Step into a bright and airy studio for a fun-filled family photo session. We’ll capture the genuine joy and togetherness of your family in a relaxed atmosphere, without the need to keep the kids up past bedtime. Contact me for availability.

    In-Home Session

    These laidback sessions take place in the comfort of your home. In-home sessions are ideal for documenting a new addition, or capturing everyday memories in your special place. These sessions are scheduled Monday to Friday between 10 am to 2 pm and are 1-1.5 hours in length. Contact for availability.

  • When it comes to choosing a location for your family session, the first thing to consider is the vibes you want to create. Do you want to play along a boardwalk, or take a hike in the woods? Do you want to splash around on the beach or frolic in the fields? Are you interested in documenting memories of living in your home? Or, do you want classic and timeless portraits in a studio? It's easy to narrow down your location options when you know what kind of vibes and style you want.

    I have a few favourite locations in West Ottawa and SD&G that I'm happy to suggest as well!

  • I understand that not everyone in the family may love photos, especially kids. But no worries, I've got you covered! Here are some ways that I strive to make things stress-free for the entire family:

    • Going with the Flow: I understand that each family member has their own comfort level, so I adapt to everyone's needs during the session.

    • Embracing Playfulness: Let the kids be kids! I encourage their playful energy and capture those spontaneous moments that light up the photos.

    • Patience and Flexibility: If a certain pose or idea isn't working, I switch things up on the spot to ensure we capture authentic smiles and interactions.

    • Comfort and Reassurance: If anyone feels uneasy, I'm there with comfort and reassurance, making sure everyone feels relaxed and at ease.

    • Fun and Games: To keep the kids engaged, I incorporate fun movements and little games that lead to genuine smiles and laughter.

    • Candid and In-Between Moments: Some of the most beautiful shots happen in between poses, so I focus on capturing those candid, heartfelt moments.

    • Your Family's Unique Beauty: My goal is to capture the genuine essence of your family - the love, connections, and joy that make you special.

  • I stay true to my style and approach of capturing authentic, candid moments. As such, I currently do not offer extended family shoots involving large group poses, similar to big group wedding photos. My focus is on photographing immediate families, with the exception of including one set of grandparents. By doing so, I can ensure that the sessions remain genuine and allow for those heartwarming connections and interactions to shine through. I believe in preserving the beautiful essence of each family, and this approach allows me to create meaningful and cherished memories that you'll treasure for a lifetime. If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to reach out. I'm here to make your family photo experience truly special!

  • The majority of the outdoor photos on my website and Instagram are taken during golden hour - that magical time just before sunset when the light is soft and dreamy. However, I completely understand that not everyone would like to keep their kids up past their bedtimes. So, when booking sessions outside of golden hour times, it's essential to be transparent about the difference in lighting.

    During the day, the lighting is stronger, which can result in harsher shadows and brighter highlights. As a result, the look of your photos may differ slightly from those in my portfolio. But rest assured, the focus remains on capturing those beautiful and heartfelt moments among your family. The essence of candid and authentic connections will still shine through in your photos, creating cherished memories that you'll treasure forever. If you have any questions or concerns about the lighting or scheduling, please feel free to reach out.
